Weather and your mowing schedule

Texas weather will sometimes get in the way. Here is how we handle a visit that weather moves.

Your day is a preferred day

When you sign up you choose a preferred service weekday, and we build your recurring schedule around it.

It isn’t a guaranteed appointment. Weather, route conditions, holidays and other unusual circumstances can shift a visit, and we don’t want to promise an exact time we can’t always keep.

What we commit to: if your visit moves, we let you know, so you aren’t left wondering whether someone is coming.

When rain interrupts a visit

A rained-out visit is not simply dropped, leaving your lawn to grow for twice as long before anyone returns.

Instead, the visit is rescheduled.

Mowing wet ground

Sometimes the ground is too saturated to mow without tearing the turf or leaving ruts. Waiting is better for the lawn in those conditions.

Longer wet spells

During an extended wet stretch several properties may move at once. We work through them in order and keep affected customers informed.

If weather has moved your visit and you’re unsure where things stand, just ask. We’d rather tell you than have you wondering.

Getting back to your normal day

Once a moved visit has been completed, your property returns to its normal recurring day. A rescheduled visit does not push the whole schedule along behind it.

What the crew is deciding on the day

Mainly two things: whether the ground can take a mower without tearing the turf or leaving ruts, and whether the route can be finished safely and properly.

Cutting a saturated lawn causes damage that takes longer to recover from than a few extra days of growth.

What this means for your recurring price

A visit moved by weather is still the same routine visit: mowing, edging, string trimming and clearing clippings from ordinary hard surfaces, and it is covered by the same recurring price. See lawn mowing for what that scope includes.

If an extended wet spell has let a lawn get well past normal maintenance height, that is a different job from routine mowing and is quoted separately before it is done, in the same way a first-time reset cut is. The pricing page explains how work outside the routine scope is handled.

Holidays and route conditions

Weather is the most common reason a visit moves, but it is not the only one. Holidays and route conditions can shift a day too, and they are handled the same way: the visit is rescheduled rather than dropped, and you are told when your day changes.

If we can’t finish a route for a reason unrelated to your property, your visit is moved, not missed, and we let you know the same way.

The rest of how service runs

Access, gates, pets, obstacles on the lawn and what happens when a visit cannot be completed are all set out on the service policy page. Shorter answers to the questions people ask most are on the FAQ.
