Property photos

Sending photos of your lawn

Photos help us prepare a more accurate estimate than a map can. They’re optional, and ordinary phone pictures are fine.

What helps most

What we’d like to see

You don’t need all of these, just what applies to your property.

Front lawn

A wide shot from the street showing the whole front area.

Back lawn

The full back area, if it’s part of what you’d like serviced.

Side lawn

If your property has one worth including.

Gate or access route

How we get to the back. This is the single most useful photo.

Anything unusual

Slopes, drainage, bare patches or areas needing particular care.

A normal phone photo in daylight is all we need. Stand back far enough to show the whole lawn. A wide shot beats a close-up of the grass.
Why it helps

What a photograph shows that a map does not

A satellite view shows roughly how much green there is. It shows much less of what changes the work: how the back is reached, where a gate sits, how steep a slope is, what obstacles are on the lawn, how much of the area is bed rather than grass, and how much of it is usable lawn at all.

Photos fill in those details, so we can quote more accurately. The pricing page explains how a quote is put together.

The useful one

The access photo

One especially useful photo is the route from the front of the property to any fenced or back lawn. A gate, a side passage, a step or a path too narrow for a mower all change how a visit runs, and they’re easier to plan for ahead of time than to discover on the day.

If you don’t want the back serviced, tell us that too. It helps to know which areas to leave out.

Good enough

Ordinary phone photos are what we want

There’s no need for anything special. We’re looking at the area and the access, not individual blades of grass, so a wide shot works best.

You don’t need every photo on the list, only the ones that apply. You also don’t need to tidy up first. Seeing the lawn as it usually looks is more useful, especially if it’s overgrown and may need a reset cut.

What happens to them

How your photos are used

We use your photos to quote and service your lawn, and we keep them with your property record. That way the access route, the gate and the layout stay on file with your frequency and preferred weekday, and you don’t have to explain them again.

Property and service records are kept for as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards. You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted where it is not required to be kept. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

The how it works page shows where photos fit in the quote process.

Optional

Add photos with your quote request.

You can add photos in the quote form, or skip them. If you skip them and we need a few, we’ll ask.
